Estimating the Cost of Hardwood Flooring?



If you are planning to install hardwood flooring to your place, a thought may be covering your mind of how much will cost to get this installation done. Well, the answer to this question is variable in nature as it depends on many factors related to it. It depends on the kind of wood you will be choosing for your place, the condition & class of floor it will be installed upon. If there is an option of tiles or stone in your list of varieties of floorings to be considered, you should know that hardwood flooring will be less expensive than them. But they will be more costly than laminates.




Now amongst the factors affecting the overall cost of hardwood flooring to be installed in your place, the most significant one is the type of wood you choose. Ranging from local to exotic, the price varies accordingly. There is wood of Birch, Red Oak, and Hickory as local woods while in exotics, there is Wenge & Zebrawood which are much costlier than the local wood varieties. It is up to you to do some research on the type of wood you desire in the local market & you may even get them at lower costs. Researching about things you like & desire is always helpful & advantageous. And while comparing the type of would, you should consider cost, warranty, installation cost & other related factors as well before finalizing a particular kind of wood for your place.

Also, there are two types of hardwood in which they are broadly classified in: Solid & engineered. And the cost of installation of hardwood flooring is different in both the cases. There is ease in installing engineered hardwood as it can be adhered to the floor using wood adhesives. But solid hardwood has to be properly nailed at ends to the floor. So, this affects the cost of installation accordingly.

For a tight affordability issues, polyurethane floors can also be chosen at considerably lower costs.
